Lanise Barnett, CNM, WHNP-BC
Lanise is a native of the Bronx, New York. She has lived in the South Atlanta area for over 20 years. She is a Mundy’s Mill High School Alumna. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014 from Columbus State University and her Master of Science Midwifery Degree from Frontier Nursing University in 2022. She is a Certified Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Lanise commissioned as an officer in the United States Army Nurse Corps in 2014. She is currently serving as a Captain in the United States Army Reserve Nurse Corps.
Lanise started her nursing career as a medical-surgical cardiac nurse. After witnessing her friend’s beautiful birthing experience, she went on to join the labor and delivery department where she grew to appreciate the art of delivering babies. Lanise’s interest in Women’s Health sparked when one of her best friends told her that she thought Lanise would be a good midwife. Lanise then went back to school to get a master’s degree in the Midwifery and Nurse Practitioner programs. Lanise joined MyOBGYN directly after completing her clinical rotations, with MyOBGYN’s Preceptor Jennifer Williams, providing both Midwifery and Womens’ Health care.
Lanise is an awesome mom of a handsome son Dakota. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She enjoys helping people, international travel, playing adult competitive kickball, and spending quality time with her loved ones.
